Paulo Coutinho, an 18-year-old man, was found dead late Wednesday night after several hours of searching by the GNR team in Praia Fluvial do Sorraia, in Coruche.
For what CM As it turned out, the boy had gone to spend the day at the beach with his father when he was no longer seen shortly before midday. The father had left home to go to a cafe and when he returned, he realized his son was missing and immediately reported him to the authorities. The young man’s mother also posted on social media about his disappearance.
GNR conducted searches on the site, using drones and divers to find Paulo, throughout the day and found him already dead at around 8pm. The body was lying next to the riverbed with diving goggles on. The hypothesis of foul play was ruled out, as all indications point to death by drowning.
