Eight people have been arrested and three police officers injured during protests in Sunderland, Britain, following a knife attack that left three children, one of whom was Portuguese, dead in Southport.
According to Sky News, a mosque and a police station were attacked and cars were set on fire. During the clashes, objects were thrown at government officials.
A group of hundreds of protesters gathered in Keele Square at around 7pm on Friday. Some of the protesters carried English flags and shouted slogans. support for far-right activist Tommy Robinson. There were also shouts of insults against Islam.
