Iran’s interim foreign minister received his Jordanian counterpart on Sunday, who traveled to Tehran to urge the country not to react to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital, attributed to Israel.
After meeting with Iranian Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi will also meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, to whom he will convey a message from Jordanian King Abdullah II regarding Iran’s decision to retaliate against Israel, Entekhab newspaper reported, citing EFE news agency.
Safadi’s visit came after two phone calls with Iran’s acting foreign minister following the killing of Haniyeh and his bodyguard on Wednesday in Tehran when a short-range projectile was fired at their home.
