From Tuesday, guardians of students in grades 10, 11 and 12, as well as those attending other study programmes, can request vouchers for free textbooks. This is the last stage of the calendar, after the same opportunity was opened on the 1st for students of the 1st cycle: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years, as well as for students of the 9th year – 3rd cycle. In turn, on the 8th, requests for vouchers are allowed for students of the 2nd cycle: 5th and 6th years, as well as 7th and 8th years (from the 3rd cycle).
To benefit from free school benefits, guardians must register on the website www.manuaisescolares.pt or through the Edu Rede Escolar app (Android, iOS). The first time you access, you will need to verify your taxpayer number (NIF) and guardians must have their access data to the Financial Portal so that verification can be carried out. If you do not have the data, you must request it through the Financial Portal.
Using the Free Textbooks platform, guardians will have access to the student’s education details, as well as vouchers for the relevant textbooks and a list of participating bookshops where they can be obtained. If you are unable to view the student’s identity, check with the school to ensure that the class lists have been published, that you are registered with the school as a guardian and that your NIF has been entered correctly. “If you are unable to view the vouchers, this is because they are not yet available,” the guidance page states.
