According to Sábado, the Presidential Secretary of State, Rui Armindo Freitas, is the richest member of the government. His financial assets amount to 8.1 million euros, excluding 18 cars, mostly vintage. He has shares in five companies, two of which are in the textile sector, to which the family is linked in Vale do Ave, and he owns a one-man real estate company. He was an administrator at Media Capital, owner of TVI, one of which he had to leave, but he remained a shareholder. He was also a shareholder in the digital newspaper Eco.
The financial assets of Rui Armindo Freitas, who has no declared personal debt to banks, are far from those of the second and third richest officials: Labor Minister Palma Ramalho (5.2 million euros) and State Secretary for Infrastructure Hugo Espirito Santo (5.1 million).
