The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE) has suspended the activities of six bakery and confectionery operators with their own production due to lack of hygiene conditions as part of a national inspection, it was announced on Friday.
ASAE inspected 74 economic operators under Operation Panis to check compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations, business licensing and mandatory product labelling information.
As a result of the operation, activities were suspended six times due to non-compliance with general and special hygiene requirements, and 28 cases of administrative offences were initiated.
The main violations include: “failure to comply with general and special hygienic requirements, lack of technical and functional condition of production facilities, lack of a HACCP system.” [sistema de Análise de Perigos e Controlo de Pontos Críticos]inconsistencies in the information contained in the labeling of packaged products (cakes), etc.
