Fenerbahce, coached by Portuguese Jose Mourinho, drew 2-2 away to Goztepe on Saturday, missing out on a win in added time in the second round of the Turkish Football League.
The Portuguese coach’s team scored the first goal thanks to Bosnian Dzeko from the penalty spot at 45+3 and strengthened the score with a header from Moroccan En Nesyri at 45+7, which was a good start to the “hangover” after the elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Lille.
In the second half, Günther reduced the home side’s lead to 68, but the Izmir side seemed unable to prevent another Fenerbahce win, taking advantage of their complacency to level the score at 90+5 through Romulo.
With this result, the team coached by Mourinho has four points from two rounds and is currently in second place in the championship.
Also on Saturday, Miguel Cardoso’s goal was not enough to help Kayserispor secure their first points of the campaign, losing at home to Sivasspor (2-1).
