A wildfire raging since dawn this Friday in the municipality of Amares, Braga district, has mobilized about 120 operatives with the support of 35 vehicles, according to Civil Protection.
A source from the Cavado Sub-Regional Command told Lusa that “fire from two active fronts is engulfing the wooded area, houses are not endangered.”
The same source added that firefighting was “developing favorably” and there was no prospect of requesting “additional reinforcements of funds”.
According to the civil protection page, a fire warning was issued today at 4:48 am in the area of Caldelas, Sequeiros and Paranhos.
By 18:20, 118 operators were on the ground supported by 35 firefighting vehicles, which already had two air assets involved in firefighting operations.
