This Monday, Famalicao joined the group of leaders of the Portuguese First Football League with an impressive 3-0 victory over Estrela da Amadora, “organized” by Sorriso and Saidou Yusuf in the second round.
The formula used in the opening and which surprised Benfica seemed to be used again at the José Gomes Stadium, given the goals of the two players in the 36th and 83rd minutes respectively, but there was still room for a goal by Mario González, in the 90th minute 3.
Famalicao are first in the league table with Sporting, Porto, Moreirense and Vitória de Guimarães, all with six points from two wins in the first two rounds of the championship, while in the club group Estrela da Amadora follows with one point.
Both teams made just one change to their starting line-ups, with Ferro replacing Issiar Drame, who was left out of the squad, for Estrela da Amadora, while Ivan Zlobin was brought in for Famalicao given his imminent departure by Luis Junior.
Famalisense started the more dangerous side and went close to goal in the opening minutes when Enea Mihai headed over after just three minutes, forcing Bruno Brigido to make a major intervention following a corner in the face of some star players in difficulty.
Oscar Aranda soon saw a shot intercepted in the penalty area, and only 15 minutes later Estrela da Amadora began to balance control of the match, but without the appropriate opportunities to test Ivan Zlobin’s attention and reflexes.
In a more dull tone of the match, Gustavo Sa managed to “pull a rabbit out of the hat” and with a great individual play in the 36th minute he picked up the pace against Leonel Bucca, beat Ferro and made an easy shot. The striker Sorriso scored.
Filipe Martins wasted no time in bringing on Leo Cordeiro and Nani after the restart in place of yellows Manuel Queliano and Gustavo Henrique, which led to increased attacking pressure from the star-studded team, which resulted in Leonel Bucca hitting the post.
The stands rose with the sensation of the Argentine’s goal in the 57th minute from a corner, but the deficit remained and Estrela da Amadora was unable to create danger up front, unlike Famalicao, who took advantage of several mistakes.
A strong strike from Ferro at 66 and another from Miguel Lopez at 74 kept the result at a minimum, but despite some desperate attempts from Reboleira’s team, Famalicao “killed” the game with a second goal from Zaidu Yusuf.
With the support of Sorriso, the French midfielder was the first and had no chance to hit Bruno Brigido at 83, and already in added time, a mistake by Miguel Lopez still brought the outsiders a score of 3:0 in a pass “on a plate” to the goal of Mario Gonzalez.
