On Friday, a French court sentenced three members of a far-right group to more than three years in prison for planning an attack on the French president. Emmanuel Macron in 2018.
Of the 13 suspected in the preparation of the attack – 11 men and two women aged 26 to 66. Only three were found guilty. According to Reuters, there were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of three to four years, suspended for one to two years.
A fourth participant was given a six-month suspended sentence for possession of an illegal weapon.
A group called “Les Barjols” has been on trial since 17 January.
French prosecutors believe members of the group planned to stab Macron during a World War I commemoration ceremony in eastern France in November 2018.
