“Influencer” Andrew Tate was placed under house arrest Thursday after being detained Wednesday as part of a Romanian investigation into human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The measure will remain in place for 30 days.
Andrew Tate was detained along with his brother Tristan and five others for 24 hours after the houses were raided. Tristan was given a 30-day supervised release.
The Romanian Prosecutor’s Office executed four search warrants related to crimes related to the creation of an organized criminal group, trafficking in minors, sexual relations with minors and money laundering.
The “influencer” was accused of setting up an organised crime network in Romania and the UK in early 2021 along with his brother and two women.
Andrew Tate and his brother were first detained in December 2022 in Bucharest along with two Romanian women and held for three months before being transferred to house arrest.
Among the assets initially seized as part of the investigation were several luxury cars.
