The company is accused of “negligence” with public services and “lack of intention to preserve and promote jobs” in Navarra.
The Renfe Company Committee in Navarra has denounced the “degradation of public service offered to travelers”, with a “gradual deterioration“, an “alarming increase” in incidents and “continuous breakdowns that affect comfort.”
The workers’ representatives have lamented, with one voice, the “clear lack of commitment to the railway as a means of transport in Navarra”, as well as its connection with Álava, and a “neglect existing in current services.”
The unions reveal that the driving, intervention (who have their residence in the Autonomous Community of Navarre, and carry out the majority of the medium-distance trains that cross Navarre towards the neighbouring provinces) and ticket office staff groups are “understaffed”.
This affects the operation of the service and seriously affects the quality of the service, “demonstrating a lack of intention to preserve and promote jobs” in the autonomous community, they say.
They also warn of a “serious problem” in the management of the workshops in Zaragoza and Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), where repairs and maintenance are carried out on medium-distance vehicles that travel through Navarra, Álava and neighbouring provinces.
