Israeli troops rescued a hostage in the southern Gaza Strip, according to soldiers quoted by the agency Reuters.
Qaid Farhan Alqadi, 52, was rescued in a “complex rescue operation.” The victim, kidnapped in a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, is in good health. However, he is being transferred to a hospital.
The hostage families’ forum said the return of Qaid Farhan Alqadi was a miracle as he had been held captive for “326 days”.
Military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said Alkadi was rescued in an underground tunnel but gave no details of the operation, citing the safety of the remaining hostages and Israeli forces.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said he spoke with Alqadi, praised the troops for the rescue and said Israel would work “tirelessly” to return all the hostages.
