This Friday, coach Roberto Martinez announced Portugal’s squad for the start of the Football Nations League.

Protection – Ruben Dias (Manchester City), Antonio Silva (Benfica), Renato Veiga (Chelsea), Goncalo Inacio (Sporting), Thiago Santos (Lille), Diogo Dalot (Manchester United), Nuno Mendes (PSG), Nelson Semedo (Wolverhampton Wanderers);
Middle – João Palinha (Bayern), João Neves (PSG), Vitinha (PSG), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), Ruben Neves (Al-Hilal), João Felix (Chelsea), Francisco Trincao (Sporting), Pedro Gonçalves (Sporting);
Advanced – Rafael Leão (Milan), Giovani Kenda (Sporting), Pedro Neto (Chelsea), Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nasr) and Diogo Jota (Liverpool).
The Portuguese side will host Croatia at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon on September 5 and face Scotland at the same stadium three days later, with both games kicking off at 19:45.
Portugal won the inaugural Nations League in 2019 but then failed to reach the Final Four in 2020/21 and 2022/23.
