The wreckage of the crashed helicopter was removed from the Douro River on Saturday.
The vessel, equipped with a crane, operated on the river in coordination with the resources deployed for the operations.
In this area of the Douro River, in Samodaines, municipality of Lamego, district of Viseu, there are several boats of different forces, such as the Navy, Civil Defense and firefighters.
Firefighting helicopter with six people on board fell into the Douro River this Friday, Samodynes, Lamego. The plane was carrying five soldiers from the GNR’s Emergency Protection and Assistance Unit (UEPS) and sank. Four soldiers were killed and one was missing. TO the pilot was rescued alive on a tourist ship with fractures of the lower limbs, authorities confirmed.
