The Lisbon and Leiria areas will be under a yellow warning on Tuesday due to the forecast of strong winds with gusts of up to 75 kilometres per hour (km/h), especially in the coastal strip and in the mountains, according to IPMA.
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), a yellow warning for Lisbon and Leiria will be in effect from 9:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday.
A Yellow Alert is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk to certain activities due to weather conditions.
IPMA forecasts clear to sunny skies across the continent today, with more cloud in the northern and central parts of the continent, with a chance of light rain and slightly cooler temperatures.
The forecast also indicates light to moderate winds from the northern quadrant, moderate to strong, with gusts up to 75 km/h, in the highlands, especially on the central and windward coast of the Algarve, as well as on the west coast.
Minimum temperatures will range from 12 degrees Celsius (in Coimbra) to 16 degrees Celsius (in Faro and Setubal), and maximum temperatures from 22 (in Aveiro) to 31 (in Castelo Branco).
