He has called for job positions to be re-adapted, because in some activities “there is a lack of personnel”.
The Euskaltel company committee has expressed its “total” rejection of the voluntary redundancy plan proposed by MasOrange, which would affect the Basque operator, and has called for a restructuring of jobs, because in some activities “there is a lack of personnel”.
MasOrange, a telecommunications company resulting from the merger of Orange and MásMóvil, has informed its staff on Tuesday of a voluntary redundancy plan for a maximum of 795 workers (it is not yet known from which sections), considering that there are “organizational duplications” after the integration of the Orange and MásMóvil staff.
This voluntary ERE will affect six companies in the group such as Orange Espagne, Orange España Comunicaciones Fijas, Xfera Móviles, Lorca telecom Bidco, R Cable, Telecable and Euskatel, a Basque operator that was acquired by MásMóvil in 2021. In statements to Europa Press, the president of the Euskaltel company committee, of the CCOO Euskadi union, Javier del Blanco, explained that they were notified of this decision on Tuesday but They have not yet given a breakdown of the impact that this would have on Euskaltel.nor in the rest of the subsidiaries.
He said that from now on there is a 15-day period to form the negotiating table and, once it is formed, there will be a month to negotiate the conditions of the file.
Javier del Blanco has shown his rejection of this ERE and has recalled the ““repeated promises of recent months” by MasOrange CEO Meinrad Spenger and senior management “to avoid any ERE”.
In his opinion, it is not “acceptable” to propose this ERE because there is “a lot of activity, we have positive results and what needs to happen is a readjustment of jobs.”
As he explained, there are activities in which “there is a lack of personnel” and, therefore, there is no need to present a ERE but rather to “readjust” the jobs. “There must be a good distribution and good organizationwhich is what is usually lacking in this type of movement,” he said.
