BE considers Pinto Luz a “toxic asset” in the government, unsuitable to manage the TAP “dossier”

On Tuesday, the BE coordinator said that Infrastructure and Housing Minister Miguel Pinto Luz is a “toxic asset” in the government who is “not suitable” to manage the TAP file.

At a press conference at the blocs’ headquarters to announce the findings of the Inspectorate General of Finance (IGF) report on TAP, Mariana Mortágua said the person in charge of the infrastructure portfolio is “the biggest toxic asset this government has,” arguing that one might wonder “if Miguel Pinto Luz should ever be a minister,” although without explicitly defending his dismissal.

“I think it’s a reasonable question, given this CV, which sometimes reads like a minister’s record. One thing is certain: Miguel Pinto Luz is not qualified to manage the TAP file. Whether it is privatized or not,” said Mariana Mortágua.
