Second day of strike in Metal de Bizkaia

Summoned by CC. OO., LAB and UGT, on the one hand, and ELA, on the other, will hold demonstrations in Barakaldo and Basauri.

The Biscay Metal sector faces today the second day of strike of the three called by the unions.

The strike is called by all the centrals with representation in the sector, although it occurs without the union unity that has characterized the previous mobilizations. DC. OO., LAB, UGT, ESK, CGT and CNT, which make up the union majority, on the one hand, and ELA, on the other hand, so that they have called this strike separately.

DC. OO., LAB, UGT, ESK, CGT and CNT have called a demonstration for today that will start at noon from Plaza Bide Onera in Barakaldo. ELA will mobilize at 11:30 am in Basauri.

The first day of the strike held yesterday had a “wide” follow-up, according to the convening centrals. The employers’ association FVEM, on the other hand, reduced its participation to 27%.

The unions ask the FVEM employers to unblock the negotiation of the agreement. In addition, they have warned that they do not rule out calling more strikes.
