Slovenian band Laibach has announced a concert in Kyiv, the first full concert in Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022.
The rock band’s concert will take place on March 31 at the Bel Etage concert hall and will be called “Eurovision” – a reference to the festival, which Ukraine will not accept, despite the fact that it won the last contest.
As Europe prepares to celebrate its idea of freedom and solidarity in Liverpool. [cidade que recebe a Eurovisão]Laibach will bring Eurovision to Ukraine,” the band said in a Facebook post.
On social media, the group announced that all the money raised will go to charity and help animals in the occupied country.
Laibach were founded in the former Yugoslavia, where they were banned for supporting Slovenian nationalism. When Slovenia gained independence, the group became a symbol of the country.
Although U2 members Bono and The Edge performed in Kyiv for 40 minutes, this will be the first full concert in the traditional format to be held in Ukraine.
