A man in his 60s was in critical condition after being picked up by his own car in Lordelo, Paredes municipality, on Saturday morning.
The victim stopped the car on a slope, on the sidewalk of Coruheira. Then he got out of it and got hit by a car. He was caught between a car and a street lamp.
The man suffered a stomach injury and was rescued and stabilized on the spot by Paredes volunteer firefighters before being taken to the Padre Américo hospital in Penafiel.
The accident may have been caused by improper braking of the vehicle.
GNR Lordelo was also on site and took care of the incident.
