Moroccan footballer Ashraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain is under investigation for an alleged infraction, a court source said on Monday, citing the Associated Press.
The same source said that a preliminary investigation has been launched against the Moroccan, which is taking place in Nanterre, on the outskirts of Paris.
The French newspaper Le Parisien was the first to report on the investigation, reporting that a 25-year-old woman went to the police station to claim that Hakimi had raped her.
Despite the allegation of rape, the woman ultimately did not file a complaint, and the prosecutor’s office nevertheless decided to open an investigation.
The facts date back to February 25 and took place in the home of the Paris Saint-Germain footballer.
