TSF workers gather on Thursday due to lack of response to wage adjustment

Workers at radio station TSF from the Global Media Group (GMG) will assemble on Thursday in front of the company’s headquarters in Lisbon, given the “lack of response to wage adjustments” this year.

The concentration of temporary storage warehouse workers was convened by the Joint Commission, approved at the plenary meeting on January 26.

The initiative comes after “the lack of response to the proposed salary adjustments for all TSF workers in 2023, made at a February 16 meeting with the CEO [presidente executivo] from GMG, Marco Galiña, with administrator Domingos Andrade and HR director Domingos Gonçalves,” reads the sent statement, to which Lusa had access.

The meeting is scheduled for March 2 from 10:00 to 12:00 in front of building H of the Torres de Lisboa business complex on Rua Tomás da Fonseca.

Earlier this month, it was announced that GMG Financial Administrator (CFO) Guilherme Pinheiro will be leaving the group that owns the brands Diário de Notícias (DN), Jornal de Notícias (JN) and TSF, among others.

However, the Lusa Working Committee (CT) in a statement released on Monday cites the chairman of the board of directors as saying that “Helena Ferro Gouveia has resigned from the Lusa administration, where she was a spokesperson for the Global Media group. (de Marco Galinha, who also has a stake in Lusa through Páginas Civilizadas), not knowing who will represent him when the resignation takes effect.”

The name of the new representative has yet to be verified by CRESAP – the Commission on Recruitment and Selection for Public Administration, and only after that it will be approved by the general assembly of Lusa.

Global Media, led by Marco Galinha, owns 23.36% of Lusa, with a further 22.35% of the news agency owned by a manager through Páginas Civilizadas.
