A 61-year-old man detained on suspicion of domestic violence in Santa Maria da Feira, Aveiro district, will await progress in pre-trial detention, GNR said on Wednesday.
The GNR said in a statement that on Tuesday, the suspect was present at the first judicial interrogation in the Feira court, where the most serious coercive measure was issued, and was sent to Custoias prison.
The man was arrested Monday on an arrest warrant, and the military found that the man “threatened and used physical, psychological and verbal violence against the victim, his 62-year-old wife.”
GNR also mentions that another 35-year-old man who was at the suspect’s home was also arrested for drug trafficking, as he was subject to demands for recognition of his identity and length of stay.
Searches were also carried out, culminating in the seizure of 76 doses of hashish, 13 doses of cocaine, 10 doses of heroin, platform scales and 122 euros in cash.
