Two men suspected of underage pornography have been arrested under cover of a police operation in the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo based on reports from an international organization, it was announced this Saturday.
The Judicial Police said in a statement that an operation designated 125 Azul was carried out in recent days to execute “multiple house, home and computer search warrants” of various equipment, with hundreds of videos and images. labeled as containing child pornography.
In these videos and images, “small children” can be seen engaging in explicit sexual activities with adults, suspecting that “some of this material may have been shared with as yet unidentified third parties,” the note says.
The operation identified several suspects and detained two of them, both aged 22, seizing several devices, namely computers and mobile phones.
The detainees who were present at the first judicial interrogation were subjected to preventive measures in the form of detention, and the rest of the defendants submitted their appearances to the local police department once every two weeks.
The investigation is currently ongoing to identify other possible suspects, with investigations being conducted by the Departments of Investigation and Criminal Affairs (DIAP) of Loulé and Beja.
