Vidago fire commander Bruno Henriquez said the alarm was raised at 11:56 a.m. that the fire started in the premises without knowing the cause, which will now be investigated by the Judicial Police (PJ) of Vila Real.
The official said that the roof of the house was “completely destroyed” as a result of the fire, as well as part of the house, which was completely damaged by smoke and heat, so that its inhabitants remained alive. displaced.
A source in the territorial office of Vila Real Poland said that the couple, aged 62 and 68, left the house on their own.
The relocation of the couple, according to the commander of the fire brigade, is handled by family members, the municipal civil protection and welfare service.
“Although the fire was already quite strong when we arrived, fortunately, the staff managed to get into the house and quickly start extinguishing it,” Bruno Henriquez explained.
For this operation, 15 operatives were mobilized, including firefighters and GNR fighters.
