An anti-drug operation by the maritime police, judicial police, navy and air force resulted in four arrests and the seizure of 106 bales of hashish (about 3,710 kg) this morning in international waters in the southern Algarve, the CM said. . All arrested men: two Spaniards and two Moroccans. A fast ship used for smuggling was also captured.
The traffickers were discovered in a joint operation that the Maritime Administration, the Navy and the Air Force have been conducting on the ground since the beginning of the year, and with this seizure already more than 20 tons of hashish and 25 arrests, with more than a dozen drug addicts seized.
The “flyer” was approached by Marines and members of the NCIS Tactical Action Team after it was initially spotted, followed by an Air Force aircraft on a maritime patrol mission.
The ship with the drug was taken to the port of Faro for investigation, and the four people and the drug were handed over to the Judicial Police for further action.
