The lehendakari, Inigo Urkulluhas said that the Basque Country “will need time” to adapt to the reality of the electric vehicle, “a change that will not be easy and will require a great effort”.
Urkullu recalled that Germany or France have shown their concern about the horizon established by the European Union to ban the sale of new combustion cars in 2035, which “is just around the corner.”
In this sense, he added that “adaptations as important and necessary as this one need the commitment of everyone and, of course, they must take into account all the realities, without a doubt, very heterogeneous in the European territory”.
In any case, he assured, “we look to the future with confidence and optimism”.
Iñigo Urkullu, accompanied by the councilors Idoia Mendia and Arantxa Tapia, attended the inauguration of the new building of the AIC automotive center in Amorebieta-Etxano this Friday.
