The airports of the Basque Country continue to recover the activity of before the pandemic, and in February they have exceeded the data registered in the same month of 2019, as reported by Aena on Monday. Specifically, at Bilbao Airport, passenger traffic has reached 348,667 passengers with a growth of 0.8%, while that of San Sebastián has recorded 24,966 passengers, 24.1%, and that of Vitoria -Gasteiz 15,727, 77.2% more.
Regarding the type of traffic, that of the Spanish State has grown by 7.2% in the Bilbao airport compared to February 2019, up to 236,847 passengers. International travelers recover 89.3% compared to January 2019, with a total volume of 111,068 passengers. So far this year, the Vizcaya airport has handled 688,508 passengers, 1.3% more than in the first two months of 2019.
In San Sebastián, the airport ended February with a growth of 24.1% in the number of passengers compared to the same month of 2019, accounting for a total of 24,966 travelers. So far this year, it has moved 52,702 passengers, 34.3% more than in the same period of 2019.
