Food prices shoot up to 15.5% in the CAV and 16.1% in Navarra, in February

In the last month, food prices have increased by 1.5% and 1% in Euskadi and Navarra, respectively. In the Spanish State, food prices grew in February by 16.6% in their interannual rate.

In January, the interannual rate was 5.6% in Euskadi, which represents an increase of two tenths, and 6.4% in Navarra, or what is the same, a drop of one tenth.

From January to February, inflation has increased one point in the Basque Country and eight tenths in Navarra, respectively.

The increase in inflation is mainly due to the rising food pricesand it is that food prices have increased by 15.5% in the BAC and 16.1% in Navarra, in February, in their interannual rate.

In the last month, food prices have increased by 1.5% and 1% in Euskadi and Navarra, respectively.

The CPI of the Spanish State rises to 6% in February and the price of food shoots up 16.6%

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.9% in February in relation to the previous month and raised its interannual rate by one tenth, to 6%, due to the increase in the cost of electricity, and especially food, which shot up their prices by 16.6% compared to February 2022.

For its part, core inflation (excluding unprocessed food and energy products) increased by one tenth of a point in February, up to 7.6%, its highest rate since December 1986.

within the foodthose that have risen the most in price between February 2022 and the same month of 2023 are sugar (52.6%); the butter (39.1%); sauces and condiments (33.8%); he olive oil (33.5%); the whole milk (33.2%); the oils and fats (32.9%); the eggs (28%); the fresh legumes and vegetables (23.6%); the cereals (23.2%); the products dairy (21.4%) and the potatoes (21.2%).
