TAP reported this Wednesday that the airline’s still-executive president (CEO) Christine Urmier-Widener has a legal deadline of 10 business days to comment on the government-announced departure.
In a filing with the Securities Market Commission, TAP confirmed that it had received a letter on Tuesday from the General Directorate of Treasury and Finance announcing the decision of the state, the airline’s sole shareholder, to fire Urmier-Widener and TAP Chairman Manuel Beja.
The two leaders “have a ten-day deadline to issue a preliminary hearing application, after which a final decision will be made” in agreement with the state, TAP added.
