The anchovy coast this Wednesday is being the most promising to date, since the season for arrantzales from Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa started two weeks ago. It is the day in which they have fished the most, above all, in Getaria.
The arrantzales have confirmed to Euskadi Irratia that it is being the best day, both for the quantity of anchovies and for their size, since medium-sized anchovies have been purchased, 50 or 60 grains (pieces) in a kilo .
The first downloads have been sold to two euros, while others are selling for around 1.50 euros per kilo. It remains to be seen how much it will sell for in fishmongers.
Several ships have already taken port, and others are on the way. The fishing boats have arrived on the Gipuzkoan coast with a full quota, that is, with the maximum 8,000 kilos per day of work. In Bizkaia, on the other hand, the boats are docking half full.
