Two men detained for committing crimes of disobedience, aggravated bodily harm, aggravated threats, and resisting and coercing members of the Republican National Guard in Barreiro were reported to authorities once every two weeks, the state ministry said.
The two men were arrested on Sunday in Santo António da Charneca, in the municipality of Barreiro, Setúbal district.
According to the information published on Wednesday on the official website of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the defendants were driving in a car that was stopped by the SNR, and the driver refused to show documents and conduct an alcohol test.
According to the note, the driver insulted and threatened one of the soldiers and also punched and kicked three soldiers present, while another defendant pushed the NPR soldiers and hit one of them.
The Ministry of Health also indicates that it was necessary to request the intervention of reinforcements, and the defendants continued to threaten military reprisals.
After the first judicial interrogation, the defendants were to be identified and resided, and were to be taken every two weeks to the PSP police station in Baixa da Baneira.
The investigation is being conducted on the terms of the Barreiro prosecutor’s office.
