A 25-year-old Canadian died Wednesday at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, Spain, after falling off a five-meter bridge while fleeing from thieves.
According to the Spanish newspaper a countryAuthorities believe the Canadian tourist, who was vacationing with two friends, accidentally fell or thought there was less distance between the bridge and the ground.
Arriving at the scene, the police found a young man covered in blood and with serious head injuries.
In accordance with a country, two friends of the young man testified at the police station and stated that they went out at night and were robbed. After the attack, everyone fled in their own direction. No one saw the young Canadian fall off the bridge, but authorities rule out the possibility that the attackers pushed him.
The victim and his friends were on holiday in Barcelona and were going to spend the next weekend in the Catalan capital to watch the Barcelona-Real Madrid derby next Sunday.
