The government announced that more than 85,700 Portuguese-speaking immigrants living in Portugal have applied for residence permits in nine days through a new portal provided by the SEF to automatically attribute these documents.
The new platform for obtaining a residence permit in Portugal for citizens of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) went live on March 13 and is intended for Portuguese-speaking immigrants whose cases are pending before the Service for Foreigners and Borders (SEF) until December 31. 2022 and for those holding a CPLP visa issued by Portuguese consulates after October 31, 2022
A joint communiqué from the Ministry of the Interior, the Undersecretary for Parliamentary Affairs and the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization sent to Lusa reports that SEF received 85,770 requests from March 13 to Tuesday 7:00 p.m. to assign the issuance of residence permit certificates to citizens SPGS.
