The funeral of Pedro Queiroz, a 61-year-old man found dead in a well with his hands and feet tied, took place this Saturday at 15:00 at the Alto de São João cemetery in Lisbon. Several family members and friends attended the funeral ceremony to say goodbye to the pianist. The closest did not hide their emotions and are outraged by the brutal crime.
The pianist was beaten to death and thrown into a well in Penteado, Moita. On March 16, the body was discovered by the police. He was covered with a sheet and had several bruises on his head.
The results of the autopsy showed that the body showed signs of violence and malnutrition, indicating that Pedro was tortured for several weeks, while the victim did not eat or drink during this time.
The judicial police believe that Pedro was killed by his ex-girlfriend, who wanted to keep the legacy the pianist had just inherited. Friends of the victim say that the relationship of the former couple was toxic and that the woman pursued him even after the end of the relationship.
Relatives describe Pedro Queiroz as a simple man with a big heart. He was known for his talent as a musician both in Portugal and abroad. The body was cremated this Saturday. Now law enforcement agencies are looking for the perpetrator of the crime.
