The government will come up with a new support for the most vulnerable families, which will be paid “throughout the year on a regular, predictable and stable basis,” the finance minister said this Friday. The allowance will correspond to 30 euros plus another 15 euros for each child and will cover families up to the 4th pillar of the family allowance.
Fernando Medina, who spoke at the press conference, called for the announcement of a new support for families to mitigate the rise in the cost of living after the rise in prices.
The new support, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population said, will cover one million seventy thousand families. It will be valid throughout the year and will be paid quarterly – a first installment of 90 euros already in April, then in June, August and November, for a total of 370 euros per year.
For families with children, there will be more support: there will be an “emergency supplement for recipients of family benefits up to the 4th pillar of 15 euros per month per child or teenager”, which in practice would mean a total of 180 euros. euro by the end of the year. These measures, according to government estimates, will cost a total of 583 million euros from the state budget.
