State-owned businesses will be instructed to apply an additional 1% pay rise from April that the government will offer for civil servants, the Treasury Department said.
In response to Luza’s statement, the ministry, led by Fernando Medina, clarified that, as confirmed “following the salary increase for civil servants from January 2023”, also now “instructions will be given in due time so that the announced salary increase can also apply to companies in the public business sector with the necessary changes.
On Friday, the government announced that it would offer unions of civil servants this Wednesday an additional 1% pay rise and an increase in the food subsidy to six euros.
