On Tuesday morning, two women were stabbed to death at the Ismaelita Center on Avenida Luciada in Lisbon. Seriously injured, also stabbed, a professor at the Ismaelita Center was admitted to Santa Maria Hospital.
This was reported by a source in the PSP. cm that the attacker was shot dead by agents of the Rapid Response Team of the 3rd Division of the PSP in Lisbon.
Ismaili leader Narzim Ahmad confirmed in a SIC statement that two Portuguese women had died.
Police found a “big” knife in the possession of the assailant, according to the PSP. Having received the order to stop the attack, the man moved towards the agents with a knife in his hand. Faced with the threat, “the police effectively used firearms” to neutralize the aggressor.
The PSP says the man has been arrested and is in police custody.
The aggressor, apparently of Afghan origin, was taken to the San Jose hospital, his condition will be stabilized.
The situation will not be the result of disagreements or robbery.
The judicial police should be called in to investigate the nature of the situation.
PSP has set up a security perimeter inside and outside Centro Ismaelita. On the spot are the means of the Special Forces of the PSP, namely the Intervention Corps, firefighters and INEM.

This action has already prompted the Homeland Security System, in conjunction with the Department of the Interior and Justice, to assess at this point whether the attack can be qualified as a terrorist attack. The motives of the attacker will be analyzed, the version that this is a person with mental disorders is not ruled out.
