In the municipality of Lisbon, the rent for new contracts rose to 14.13 euros/m2, which represents an increase of 22.4%, while in Cascais the same phenomenon was registered, when the cost reached 13.66 euros/m2, which means an increase by 21%. Oeiras registered an increase of 23.9% to 12.65 €/m2.
This Wednesday, INE reported that in the 4th quarter of 2022, the average rent for 22,628 new leases in Portugal reached 6.91 euros/m2, representing an annual increase of 10.6%, higher than the previous year. quarter. (7.7%).
At the same time, the number of new lease agreements recorded a decrease year-on-year compared to Q4 2021 (-3.3%).
Meanwhile, the number of licensed residential buildings in new buildings increased by 5.5% in January compared to the same period last year, while cement consumption decreased by 8.1%, and the number of licenses for new construction or renovation of housing decreased by 11.1 %, the Association for Civil Engineering and Public Works (AICCOPN) said on Wednesday.
According to the summary of housing statistics, “in terms of the number of licenses for new construction or renovation of residential buildings, there were 1505 in the first month of 2023, which means a drop of 11.1%.”
