The ESK union “greets” the call for the strike although it believes that “it falls short”.
The ESK union has expressed its support for the strike called in Osakidetza for May 18 and 19.
In a statement released today, ESK “welcomes” the call for the strike, although it believes that “it falls short.” In addition, he has reproached the unions with representation in the Sector Table for not having them in his call when he represents “a combative sector within Osakidetza” and has participated in joint calls before.
Likewise, it considers that the unions with representation in Osakidetza “must join forces to carry out sustained mobilizations over time” that lead to “more forceful” strike days.
SATSE, ELA, LAB, SME, CCOO and UGT announced yesterday the call for these two days of strike in the middle of the campaign for the municipal and regional elections, to denounce the “dismantling” of public health.
Nearly 37,000 workers are called to strike in all the outpatient clinics and hospitals of the Basque Health Service.
The conveners have denounced the “serious” situation of Osakidetza and “the blocking of the negotiation” and have demanded that the Minister of Health, Gotzone Sagardui, go to the sectoral table to respond to their demands.
