The funeral of Farana Sadrudin, one of the women slaughtered by Abdul Bashir at the Ismaili Center, will take place this Friday at 11:00 am. The hearse arrived at the Ismaelita Center at 9:00.
Faranah was 48 years old, had an engineering degree and devoted herself to social causes for several years, such as supporting and accepting refugees. The attacker, an ethnic Afghan, was one of those whom he supported at a religious center in Lisbon.
Some witnesses reported after the attack that the man stalked the woman for about a year. The 28-year-old insisted that Farana move in with him to help take care of their three youngest children. A social worker would always deny Abdul Bashir’s advances.
After the funeral, Farana’s body will be taken to the Lumiar cemetery, where the Islamic canton is located.
A wake for the other deadly victim, 24-year-old Mariana Yadaugi, will begin around 5:00 pm this Friday. The funeral will take place on Saturday at the Catholic Church.
This Tuesday, Abdul Bashir killed Farana and Mariana and seriously injured a teacher at the Ismaelita Center in Lisbon. Motives for the crime continue to be elucidated, but the prevailing suspicion is that the attacker suffered a psychotic break.
