Support in the amount of 125 euros has been paid out to 4.6 million people. Another 260 thousand people should receive emergency support.

The €125 inflation mitigation support was paid out to 4.6 million people, but some 260,000 beneficiaries still did not receive it in February due to IBAN failures.

The data was released on Tuesday in a Treasury Department statement indicating that the implementation rate of the cost-of-living measure introduced in October is 95%, with 616 people paid out so far. 6 million euros.

“About 4.6 million people (4,585,609 people) have received emergency support of 125 euros (plus 50 for each dependent where applicable)” via the Internal Revenue Service (AT), read in a cabinet statement led by Minister Fernando Medina .

However, according to the note, in February there were 22,600 invalid IBANs and 239,000 people without registering any IBAN with AT, that is, a total of 261,600 people who, for these reasons, have not yet received support.

“To allow all taxpayers to update their IBAN, AT will continue to repeat payment orders until the end of April,” the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.

The IBAN update by taxpayers made it possible to pay 3.4 million euros in December, 1.7 million euros in January and 0.4 million euros in February, supporting about 42,500 people in those months, the same font says.

According to the ministry, the majority of taxpayers (about three million people) received support for their accounts in October.

“This month, 400 million euros were returned to families as part of these payments alone. In November, about 1.6 million people received them (of which about 1.1 million – in the first three days of the month), in total, more than 211 million euros were delivered to Families, ”the ministry added.

This is an income support of 125 euros (and 50 euros for each dependent) for people with a gross monthly income of less than 2,700 euros, announced in September and which began to be paid in October to respond to the increase in cost. life.

Support was also provided to recipients of certain social benefits paid in these cases by Social Security.

At the time, the government indicated that this exceptional income support would cost around 840 million euros, covering around 5.8 million people.
