Two men aged 21 and 35 and a woman aged 31 were arrested on Tuesday in the Misericordia parish in Lisbon for assaulting and insulting two policemen. One of them required hospitalization.
“Police officers patrolling the Bairro Alto area, upon learning of a heated quarrel between three men, tried to stop the aggressive behavior, resulting in two of these suspects insulting, surrounding and attacking them,” the Public Security Police said in a statement.
The detained woman joined the attacks, grabbing a police baton.
Only with the arrival of more police on the scene was it possible to stop the attacks and detain the suspects.
