The death toll from crashes on Portuguese roads has risen to eight since Operation Easter 2023 began on Monday, a GNR source told Lusa.
In a communiqué that these security forces sent out this morning, the GNR indicated that five people died in traffic accidents during the period under review.
That number now stands at eight dead, and a new evaluation of Operation Easter 2023 is scheduled for Sunday morning.
GNR’s Operation Easter 2023, which will be in effect until Tuesday, aims to protect and protect the people, its surrounding areas, and residential and commercial areas, with a focus on “the most critical roads.”
The period of increased traffic patrols began on Thursday and will last until the end of the day on Monday, when an increase in traffic is expected.
