The thieves took advantage of the fact that the public prosecutor and her husband Avelino Pinheiro, supplier of Misericordia de Vizela, were on vacation to rob their house twice in Tabuadelo parish in Guimarães. The thieves managed to take away several valuable items worth more than half a million euros. The GNB arrived at the scene and is investigating the case.
The first robbery happened less than a week ago, when the couple were already on vacation. At this time, the robbers entered the house, but could not break into the safe, in which valuable things were found. So they returned to the scene of the crime. From Thursday to Friday, they invaded the house already with material that was supposed to help them crack the safe. They seized gold coins, watches, money and other things. They then fled the scene and are in an unidentified location. It is estimated that in total the robbery generated about half a million euros, but at present what was stolen is still being investigated to determine the total amount.
A warning was filed with the GNR on Friday by people working at the villa who noticed the attack.
