Galamba woman leaves the Ministry of Finance

Laura Cravo, wife of Infrastructure Minister João Galamba, asked this Friday to leave the finance ministry headed by Fernando Medina.

“The 2023 annual extension, which Dr. Laura Cravo has already stated she intends to make it the last, has already been instructed and is in the final approval phase.”, promote José Carlos Azevedo Pereira, director general of the Department of Planning, Strategy, Evaluation and International Relations of the Ministry of Finance, said this in a statement released this Friday.

The announcement came after it was announced CNN that Laura Cravo coordinated the Department of Financial Services at the Ministry of Finance for over a year, but her appointment was never published in the Diário da República.

The woman, who is currently an employee of CMVM, joined the Ministry of Finance in February 2022, following the departure of the former director.

The Minister of Finance explained that Laura Kravo is part of the public administration and that the change in position is due to the mobility regime. “The vacancy will be filled through an open competition. Anyone can apply, the position is not filled,” Medina said.

The CEO of GPEARI ensured this Friday that the infrastructure minister’s wife kept the wages she earned at CMVM.

Azevedo Pereira explains that coordinating functions after the departure of the director of finance were assigned to Laura Cravo, “because she clearly had the necessary specialized technical skills and was the person with the most experience and the most suitable profile among technicians in the field to work in GPEARI” and “No additional remuneration was attributed to him for this task.”

As such, it clarifies that the agreement between CMVM, GPEARI, and Laura Cravo stipulated that the office would bear the cost of the initial base salary “in accordance with the terms of the contract it entered into with CMVM on July 6th.” , 2015”, with initial ACIP approval, was supported by the positive opinion of the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment (DGAEP).

He also claims that “Given the limited human resources in public administration in highly specialized areas such as those handled by GPEARI, ‘this office’ has resorted to various Assignment of Public Interest Agreements (ACIP) since 2007 to provide some positions to Your Team, currently has 38 positions in 6 ACIP, focused on financial services.
