Support for rising fuel prices, which ended today, is being extended until the end of the month, with a discount on gasoline and a one-cent reduction on diesel fuel, the Finance Ministry said.
“Taking into account all the existing measures, the reduction in the tax burden will be 32.8 cents per liter of diesel fuel and 34 cents per liter of gasoline,” the ministry said in a statement.
Compared to the first half of April, according to the ministry, the overall tax burden reduction is maintained for gasoline and slightly reduced for diesel fuel, given the dynamics of fuel prices in recent weeks.
The reduction in the tax burden is now 32.8 cents per liter of diesel fuel and 34 cents per liter of gasoline, he adds.
The fuel price mitigation measures that remain in place in the second half of April are the CIT-applicable mechanism, equivalent to a reduction in the VAT rate from 23% to 13%, and a compensation mechanism through CIT reduction. from additional VAT revenues arising from changes in fuel prices, in addition to the suspension of carbon tax updates.
The ministry also added that as part of measures to support the agricultural sector, a 6-cent reduction in the taxation of agricultural diesel is maintained.
