The director of the PSP said this Thursday that threats to attack schools on social media were nothing more than a “bad joke” and that the situation was already under control. Magina da Silva warned of the misuse of social media and the need for public vigilance.
“Several publications have been found that have already been flagged and verified,” he said.
“Public safety is a social responsibility. We cannot expect only the police to detect publications and signal them. Each of us should be attentive and try to help. In this particular case, this is monitored, controlled and people can be calm, but we all need to be on the alert,” the director of the PSP concluded.
In recent days, PSP representatives have been visiting schools in Greater Lisbon and asking for the attention of teachers and parents to report suspicious behavior.
