Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier, suspected of making discriminatory remarks during his time at Nice, filed a libel complaint this Friday against Julien Fournier and journalists Daniel Riolo and Romain Molina.
According to the France-Presse (AFP) news agency, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that this Friday the National Center for Combating Hate on the Internet received a complaint from Christophe Galtier against Julien Fournier, the former director of Nice, and two journalists Daniel Riolo and Romain Molina, who published the information last week.
These are alleged statements of racism and xenophobia made by the Parisian coach when he was coach of Nice.
According to RMC Sport, Julien Fournier sent an email to the owners of the “Nice” outlining the alleged views of Galtier, who said that he could not have so many blacks and Muslims in the team.
Christophe Galtier, who was placed under PSG protection last week, said he had received “many very unpleasant messages” including death threats.
“We hope that the Paris prosecutor will act as quickly as the Nice prosecutor to get Christophe Galtier out of this case as soon as possible,” Olivier Martin, the coach’s lawyer, told AFP on Friday.
Galtier has been the head coach of PSG, which includes the Portuguese Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, Vitor Ferreira and Renato Sanches, since July 5, 2022.
